Beatriz Serrano studied Agriculture Engineer in the University of Lleida, and received her PhD in 2008 in the University of Zaragoza. Since 2009, she has been working as Lecturer for five years and after that as non-tenured Associate Professor in the Animal Science department of the School of Agrifood and Forestry Science and Engineering (University of Lleida). During this period she has been collaborating with the University of Huesca (Prof. Jesús Yaniz and Pilar Santolaria), the University of Barcelona (Prof. Sonia Almería). During the first several years of her research career, she was focused in the study of Pregnancy-Associated Glycoproteins (PAG)in ruminants. Her current research line is focused in the immune-endocrine interactions during the pregnancy in dairy cattle (Prof. López-Gatius and Prof. García-Ispierto), with special interest in the characterization of interferon-stimulated genes during the peri-implantational period. Other topic of her recent research is the effect of the inclusion of the condensed tannins of sainfoin (forage legume) in the mucosal immune response of fattening lamb diets.
